De L’Arta disrupts the skincare market with first-ever skincare collection formulated with Tetraena qatarensis

De L’Arta, the outdoor living laboratory, is a UAE-based start-up that has launched its first collection of products into the skincare market in January 2021. The company started out of a curiosity of the bio-compounds of native plants that grow abundantly in hot, humid and arid conditions.

“The aim was to explore the native UAE plants and the most obvious one was the [Tq], Tatraena qatarensis, because it is everywhere… it was calling us to be explored” says Saeed AlKhoori, co-founder of De L’Arta.

Dr. Lina Yousef, co-founder of De L’Arta, and Saeed AlKhoori met at Khalifah University in Abu Dhabi. Together, they conducted research to study the native flora of the UAE. Through their research, they filed for a patent on their findings. De L’Arta, as a company, now holds an exclusive license for the patented technology and is the first to ever use the extracts of Tetraena qatarensis in its skincare formulations. De L’Arta was also the first to register the extracts within the INCI, International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient.

De L’Arta has formulated a full skincare regimen that is suitable for all skin types, genders and ages. The formula is made up of many powerful natural ingredients including aloe vera, almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E but the real hero ingredient is the Tetraena qatarensis extracts.

The [Tq] skincare collection from De L’Arta was named proudly after the plant itself as an abbreviation of Tetraena qaterensis. The [Tq] extracts boasts with a range of benefits, “if you imagine how these plants grow in such harsh conditions, you can only imagine the benefits of these plants on our skin as we live in these conditions as well” explains Sarah Yousef, also a co-founder of De L’Arta. The [Tq] extracts are very rich in antioxidants. They also carry anti-inflammatory properties and wound healing properties. The extracts were also found to boost the enzyme in the skin that produces collagen.

The [Tq] skincare regimen is formulated to provide hydration, nourishment, rejuvenation and protection. The skincare line consists of four products: a face wash, a face cream, a hyaluronic-water-based serum and a miniral clay face mask. The face wash cleanses the skin gently and removes impurities without stripping away its natural oils. The face cream moisturizes and softens the skin while providing antioxidant protection. The serum penetrates deep into the skin and delivers a boost of hydration and nourishment. The face mask detoxifies and purifies the skin while restoring its natural glow.
